Who We Are
DOWNTOWN FREDERICTON INC. (DFI) is a non-profit Business Improvement Area (BIA) organization dedicated to sustaining and encouraging growth and development in the Central Business District of the City of Fredericton, New Brunswick. Located in the heart of “Atlantic Canada's Riverfront Capital”, the staff and Board of DFI work in unison with business, property owners and other key stakeholders to manage and develop programming designed to revitalize, promote and enhance the commercial viability of the downtown on behalf of its 650 plus members in cooperation with private and public sector partners.

Vision

Downtown is the traditional heart and pulse of the city of Fredericton and the region's strongest commercial, development, financial, entertainment and hospitality center. Situated on the beautiful St. John River, its waterfront is a vibrant center of activity and a major tourism asset. Residents and visitors alike are drawn to this lively and exciting place, where people live, work, play, shop and do business. The downtown proudly symbolizes the City's role as the provincial capital and displays its rich heritage while welcoming opportunities for new development, revitalization and improvement.”
