The St. John River Society is proud to present the 4th Annual Fredericton RiverFest, dedicated to celebrating the heritage and history of the majestic St. John River. Join us to celebrate. Listen, love and learn about our river!!
Festival Highlights:
• NEW: Waterwalker Film Festival Thursday night!
• Friday- Salmon & Fiddlehead Supper with Brollachan!
• Saturday's Concert: David Myles & The Downtown Blues Band!!
• Sunday: FREE Family Paddle!
Tickets are on sale at: Harvest Central, 81 Regent St., Westminster Books, Riverfest Office and Regent Street Irving.
Wednesday June 4th:
Canadian Rivers Institute Symposium: 8:30-4pm at the WU Conference Centre, UNB.
Learn the latest science and research on the river
Thursday June 5th:
The WaterWalker Film Festival: Tickets $10, 7pm, Chestnut Tent in Officers' Square
Films from around the world on canoeing, kayaking and conserving our waterways. FREE POPCORN! We're serving Picaroon's at the bar!!
Friday June 6th:
Salmon & Fiddlehead Community Supper: Tickets $22, 5:30pm, Chestnut Tent in Officers' Square - Dinner served at 6:30pm
Fabulous dinner prepared by Brewbaker's and Picaroon's beer. After dinner concert is Fredericton's Celtic Trio Brollachan. Concert sells out quickly, so make sure you get your tickets early.
Saturday June 7th:
• River Jubilee in Officers' Square: (Rain venue is the Chestnut Tent)
• River Gear Swap - Buying or Selling a used canoe or kayak or other summer gear? This is the place! Sellers drop off your equipment to sell on consignment starting at 9am. Buyers shop from 10-2.
• FiddleFest - Live music all afternoon!
• Exhibits & Kids Activities too!
• Public Lecture: An Inconvenient Truth- A Global Warning, presented by the amazing Carl Duivenvoorden at 3:30pm at the Crowne Plaza.
Saturday evening:
Rockin' the River Concert: Tickets $20, 7:00pm, Chestnut Tent in Officers' Square
Featuring ECMA Soundwaves Winners Vegetarian Haggis, Fredericton's own David Myles and the Downtown Blues Band!
Sunday June 8th:
Free Family Paddle: Noon, The Bucket Club
Celebrate Canadian Rivers Day with the FREE Family Paddle! Have a boat? Join us for a paddle. Don't have a boat? Borrow one for FREE! Starts from the Bucket Club in Silverwood and ends at Carleton Park, Fredericton North for a BBQ.
