Transit Master Plan Public Information Session June 10
Fredericton (June 5, 2008) - The next phase of public and stakeholder consultation for the City of Fredericton's Strategic Plan for Transit Services will be held on Tuesday, June 10, from 4:30 - 8 p.m. at Fredericton City Hall Council Chamber. A draft version of the plan has been developed and the preliminary findings will be available for public feedback.
The public information meeting will provide an opportunity to learn about the study process to-date, and will feature a discussion of the preliminary findings. It will also provide another opportunity for additional public input. Information collected during this meeting will be used to formulate the Strategic Plan's final recommendations.
Representatives from the Study Team, including Fredericton Transit and Dillon Consulting Limited, the company hired by the City to develop the plan, will be on hand to discuss various aspects of the study and receive input from the public.
If you are unable to attend the public meeting, but would like to provide input, please visit the study website at www.fredericton.ca or contact one of the study team members at transitstudy@fredericton.ca.
The purpose of Strategic Plan for Transit Services is to evaluate the City's transit service, and, in consultation with stakeholders and the general public, map out the direction the transit system will take over the next five to 10 years.
A large component of this Strategic Plan involves consultation with transit passengers, system personnel, stakeholders, and the public at large to determine their views of the system. A Passenger Survey was completed in March followed by a Focus Group session held in April. Comments have also been received from the public via the study website.
