News Release
Pay-by-Space Parking Coming to York Street Carpark
July 31, 2008
The City of Fredericton’s new pay-by-space parking system will go live in the York Street Carpark on Tuesday, August 5, 2008. The new system is essentially like a big parking meter.
Users of the pay-by-space system will simply pull into the carpark and note the number of their parking space, which is clearly shown on the posts in the lot.
Drivers will then head immediately to any one of the six pay stations located at the pedestrian exits to the lot, select the amount of parking time needed, pay using a variety of methods, take their receipt, and head out on their errands.
There is no need to return to your vehicle with the receipt, because the system knows your space is paid for. Upon return to the carpark, drivers simply exit the lot. Staff are reminded to review the all staff e-mail sent out earlier outlining changes affecting them.
