Science East is located in a 179-year old former colonial-era jail. The jail was decommissioned in 1996. Explore this incredible history and discover the story of New Brunswick’s groundbreaking role in crime scene investigation (CSI) in Canada in our basement-level museum.

Science East offers science clubs, programs, worksho9ps and science demos for visiting schools, groups and tours. Overnight Science Sleepovers, birthday parties and camps during March Break and throughout summer are also available. The creative atmosphere of the science centre provides inspiring and well-equipped rental spaces with a full menu of technical equipment for meetings, team-building and special occasions. The Dandy is Fredericton’s first and only paint lounge. Drop in and purchase a canvas; everything else you need for your painting is included in the price! Beer, wine, coffee and soft drinks are also available so you can relax while doing your painting. Don’t feel like painting on a canvas? We also offer some alternatives to paint, such as records, ukuleles and skateboard decks. Or just come in and have a drink with friends. All experience levels and ages are welcome.
