Downtown Gallery Hop

Gather your friends together for an evening of gallery hopping in downtown Fredericton! View the latest exhibitions, meet the artists and gallery owners and directors and enjoy light refreshments and music.

Participating galleries include:

  • Gallery 78 – Gallery 78 is delighted to host fine silver jewellery demonstrations by metalsmith Ann Fillmore. Explore this month’s exhibitions with spiced autumn refreshments. Currently on exhibit include Enduring Shapes, a solo exhibition by Nova Scotia neo realistic painter Steven Rhude. He explores the relationship of industry and communities in the Maritimes through his unique surrealist style. Also on display is Bedrock from emerging metalsmith Kaitlyn Derrah, which explores the parallels between mycelium networks and relationships through exquisite copper, silver, and gold sculptures on slate. Finally, explore Deanna Musgrave’s solo exhibition Within Water, which showcases the power of this element through captivating abstract compositions.
  • Beaverbrook Art Gallery – In addition to exhibitions available for viewing in the gallery, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery will be hosting a book launch with Elder George Paul of “Sacred Thought: Mi’Kmaq Meditations for our Times” at 6pm. Admission to the Beaverbrook Art Gallery is free or by donation
  • The Artisan District – Drop in for sweet and salty treats while browsing beautiful art and getting a sneak peak at some new items just in!  We will be having our felting artist Nikki Langley in to demonstrate the basics of needle felting and answer your questions. And you’ll have a chance to win a wonderful prize. 
  • Gallery on Queen – Explore the new fall exhibition, “V”, featuring five woman artists, Sylvie Pilotte, Raina Spalding, Aleya Michaud, Margaux Khoury and Theresa MacKnight.
  • George Fry Gallery – The Permanent Collection Exhibition honours over six decades of craftsmanship and artistic excellence in New Brunswick. From traditional to contemporary, explore an incredible array of handcrafted pieces that showcase the talent and evolution of our craft community.
  • Charlotte Street Arts Centre – TBA

Gallery admissions are free of charge during the gallery hop.
